Our family unit changed considerably too … youngsters home from uni (and raiding the cupboards), and Rob’s lovely Mum in need of closer family care. This, along with our new lockdown lifestyle was the spark that ignited our long-held dream to run a business in the village – for the village – together. A newly vacated café unit, just minutes from our home, popped up on the market. Far be it from us to ignore this wonderful opportunity!

Suddenly our dream had a very real chance to become a reality. So began months of very late nights, planning, plotting, mood-boarding, thinking, wine, more thinking … and then The Hub & Spoke Café was born in March 2021.

Our mission is to be at the hub of our local  community, serving great quality food and drinks sourced from people we like and, importantly, people who share our passion and values. It’s an indulgence of our love for food, friends, family, and fresh air.

The café was a  labour of love with a full rip out, brand new equipment such as our pizza oven and MerryChef and recently hot boxes, freezers and display fridges.

The menu is always evolving and we now have a huge range of cakes, savouries and drinks based on feedback from our very loyal customers.

The sausage roll made especially for us to our own recipe is a bestseller and the pizzas, which are baked in-house are getting rave reviews – have a look at the five star Tripadviser and google reviews our lovely customers have given. The range of savoury and sweet bakes has grown as we meet more and more talented bakers and there’s always a large selection on offer which includes many GF and vegan treats. We recently taste tested  bacon and sausage baguettes with the finest produce we can find in local butchers and bakeries and now offer these as standard. We have homemade soup, scones, jams , sourdough bread and reserves now too.
